Choirs

We have an adult choir that meets on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. Our children's choir meets on Sundays at 11:15 a.m. after the Worship Service.

North Central College Woman's Chorale
and Faculty Artists Concert

This annual concert is held in our congregation in the Spring. The next event is scheduled for April 25, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. Please join us. There will be a free-will offering rather than admission.


Gaudete Brass Quintet ConcertGaudete Brass

The Gaudete Brass Quintet, one of the country’s premier brass chamber ensembles, held a concert on Sunday, February 3, 2008, 2 p.m., at First United Methodist Church of Oak Park. Jean McCullough, a 2000 graduate of Oak Park River Forest High School, is the horn player for the quintet. Founded in 2004, the group shares their music with audiences in an exciting and relevant way. They are Artist-in-Residence at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and have been featured on a number of prominent concert series and live radio broadcasts. Ensemble musicians reside in the Chicago/Milwaukee area. More information is available at [http://www.gaudetebrass.com/].

7th Annual Sing-Along Messiah & PADS Benefit ConcertSing-Along Messiah

First United Methodist Church of Oak Park and the MacDowell Artists Association presented their 7th Annual “Sing-Along Messiah” on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. This popular holiday event featured four soloists, the Chicago Chamber Orchestra, a Skinner organ, and harpsichord. The audience sings along as the Chorus. A reception followed the concert. Pictures are available in the photo gallery.

A free-will offering of $1612 was received to support the Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS) program which provides food, shelter, and social services for the local community through a network of community volunteers and agencies. The tentative date for the 8th Annual Sing-Along Messiah is set for December 14, 2008 at 3:30 p.m.
