Opening Prayer

Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hidden. Cleanse the thoughts of my heart by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that I may perfectly love you and worthily magnify your holy name, through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Prayer of Confession:

Let me confess my sins before God.

Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what I have done, and by what I have left undone.
I have not loved you with my whole heart;
I have not loved my neighbors as myself.
I am truly sorry and I humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your name.
Amen.

Words of Pardon and Assurance:

If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9, NRSV)

Prayer of Illumination:

Let the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be acceptable to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14, NRSV)

Daily Readings:

Please click here for our daily Upper Room readings. When done, please return to this page to continue your daily prayers.

Apostle's Creed:

I believe in God the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen

Personal Prayer, Praises, Songs and Concerns:

Offer your own joys and concerns for the day through the spoken word, movement and/or song.

The Lord's Prayer:

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power,
and the glory, forever.
Amen.
